If I could find a perfect view of San Francisco, Bernal Heights would be it.
Forget Twin Peaks (the place has become a little more sketchy in recent years), and the Golden Gate (an icon, but I’ve seen it one too many times). Bernal Heights was introduced to me by my SF friends sometime in the last few years, and has come to be one of my favorite places to shoot in the Bay. Lying right on the cusp of the Mission District, Bernal overlooks the city right at the edge where the fog meets the cityscape (most of the time).
The best thing about Bernal to me is its flexibility in weather: at times you’ll get rolling fog, others you’ll get pure color in its sunsets. A lot of places in SF have a similar weather diversity, but this is one of the best places to have it. I’ll let the images speak for themselves - hope you enjoy.
It’s places like these that I feel make San Francisco unique, and I’m always searching for new and exciting places to shoot. If you want to collaborate or schedule a session, feel free to contact me!
Until next time,
